The Thing from Another World

I'VE GOTTA GET A STORY SOMEWHERE.

GREAT MOVIE! The story begins with Ned Scott, newspaperman, looking for a story in Alaska. He meets an Air Force crew who are then sent to the North Pole at the request of Dr. Carrington, the leader of a scientific expedition who believe an aircraft "of an unusual type" has crashed in their vicinity.

ALIEN FROZEN IN A BLOCK OF ICE.

The dialog is excellent, really sharp. The story unfolds nicely with excellent acting. The airmen and the scientists find a flying saucer buried in the ice. When they fan out to try and estimate the shape of the object, they discover it forms a nearly perfect circle. Great visual which cost next to nothing to produce. They try and remove it with thermite to melt the ice but end up destroying the saucer but finding its pilot thrown clear and frozen in the ice. They chop out the alien in the ice block and haul it back to their base, where it escapes from the ice.

The rest of the film is humans vs. alien. Very exciting and entertaining. A real classic. Love this movie!
